Chacott Cleansing Water - No frills, just results

[Review] Ever since I grew addicted to my eyelash extensions, I jumped on the Micellar Cleansing Water bandwagon in an effort to prolong the durability of my extensions. In addition, I love how non-oily these cleansers are as compared to my previous oil makeup cleansers that was all in the trend.
*Tip : Oil Cleansers loosen eyelash extensions over time.
Why Micellar Cleansing Water?
These are official life-savers for all lazy girls like me! With a no-rinse formula , (although I always double cleanse) some cleansers even claim to treat and tone skin without the need to use traditional foaming cleaners or lotions. Personally though, I prefer to treat them as gentle makeup removers and choose to go on my normal cleansing routine right after.
Chacott Cleansing Water
The Chachott Cleansing Water promises to provide :
- Hypoallergenic Cleansing
- Is Oil-free, fragrance-free, Colorant-free, Paraben-free and Alcohol-free
- Gentle to the eyelashes
- Remove easily with Cotton Patting Puff
- No rinsing or additional moisturizer necessary

The instructions are seemingly clear and fuss-free. Simply pour some out on a cotton pad and apply on dry face to remove makeup. There is no need to rinse after.
Chacott Cleansing Water also promises to remove heavy stage makeup easily.
I decided to put the Chacott Cleansing Water's efficiency to the test by pitting it against a leading brand "A" Micellar Cleansing Water.
The Test
With brown eyeshadow and black waterproof eyeliner (my most commonly used eye makeup items) on my hands, I applied the soaked cotton pad gently on my skin.
After 1st Wipe :
The brown eyeshadow both came off quite easily, with some slight remnants on test area A. Both waterproof eyeliner are still on skin.
After 2nd Wipe + Slight Rubbing Action :
I tried to gently rub the both cotton pads to see if the makeup removes completely. The below picture shows that the brown eyeshadow has all been completely removed and while eyeliner test area C is almost gone, eyeliner test area A is still visibly on my skin.
I decide to try again.
Final Results :
Overall review : I find that the Chacott Cleansing Water does the job effectively without using much force or rubbing action. I have been using it for 2 weeks prior to this review so I am very glad to say that I am impressed with how this product works. I have eyelash extensions on currently but I use waterproof mascara on my lower eyelashes with eyeliner and eyeshadow on a regular basis so I can attest that the Chacott Cleansing Water does remove waterproof makeup rather effortlessly. The other plus point is that this non-fragrance remover does not sting my eyes much. The big bottle (500ml) and reasonable price ($23) makes its a great daily micellar makeup remover but I do recommend double cleansing (eg. facial foam + toner) after each use for a more thorough cleansing step.
